SNAP, CRACKLE, POP

like milk poured into cereal

like a teaspoon of sugar dropped into a fresh cappuccino

like a magnet dropped into negative metal shavings

like blowing on the fur of a kitten

like a plastic bottle left out in the sun

like a fibreboard box left out in the rain

like a dog running into a flock of pigeons

like a ball dropped in a puddle of mud

like a sandcastle taken by the tide

i’ve always enjoyed the way

people’s faces cave in

when you smash them unexpectedly with a crowbar
